Learning Every day, Everywhere and Everytime
Learning occurs everywhere, every day, not only in the classroom and in the exercise books alone. Worksheet learning and the accumulation of figures and data doesn’t make responsible and self-directed leaders. Education is not about great statistics alone. It is about preparing a child towards acquiring lifelong habits of excellence, adapting, and contributing in all stages of life. Living is learning. Experience is education itself. There is no shortcut to excellence.Learning opportunities should be provided not only in the education centres or schools but also at home, and the environment at large. Children should be exposed to the concept of learning every day, everywhere and every time.
When children are connected to their inner self and concerned with the happenings in the environment, their thinking are geared towards finding answers to the observed phenomena or challengers. In later life, they would become better managers of their curiosity, emotions, and problem and grow to understand about the consequences of their action. They become better directors and managers of their action. They become responsible and contributing to society. Learning institutions: Homes, nurseries and childcare centres should adopt this new concept of learning.
A Happy Child Learns From His Environment
Children seems to know what makes them happy and usually do well in such activities without much thought and hesitation. They can spend hours pursuing their interest and concern. By following their natural thinking patterns and curiosity, the child begins to understand about their bigger world. Their understanding can be further enhanced with appropriate activities and experience by trained adults. If a child lives in an environment rich in brain friendly management and directedness, the child will grow to be good managers and directors of self and others. Well managed child becomes good managers and directors. They are able to influence people to readily accept and enjoy to be a team player.
